When you need a jump start

  • The car won't start after lights or accessories were left on.
  • The engine cranks slowly or not at all.
  • The car has been sitting unused for an extended period.

What happens during a jump start

  • Safely connects jump-start equipment to your vehicle.
  • Starts the engine and lets it run to help recharge the battery.
  • Advises whether the battery needs further testing or replacement.

What to do while you wait

Once you’ve requested a jump start, a technician typically reaches you within 30 minutes to 1 hour. While you wait:

  • If you’re on a road, switch on your hazard lights and, if it’s safe, wait away from traffic.
  • Turn off the headlights, air conditioning, radio and any phone chargers.
  • Avoid trying to start the engine again and again – it can drain the battery further.
  • Keep your phone on so the technician can reach you.

After the jump start, drive for a while so the alternator can recharge the battery. If the car won’t start again later, the battery may be failing – battery testing will tell you for sure, and a battery replacement can be done on the spot. We cover all of Dubai.
